CONSTRUCTION ALERT: The Fairmont Kea Lani Resort has announced work on enhancements which will be done this fall. Complete renovations to all three swimming pools are scheduled to take place August 30 - October 28, 2010. All hotel departments will remain open during their normal business hours including the front desk, bell desk, concierge, retail stores, and Spa Kea Lani. During the pool renovations, at least one swimming pool will always be open. The waterslide and remaining pool(s) will be closed and blocked off to allow the crew to complete their work and to ensure safety for all guests. Tasteful, temporary enclosures will surround all work areas. Measures are being taken to minimize the level of noise by installing sound-dampening booths. Work for the pool enhancement is scheduled 9:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. There will be no remodeling taking place on weekends. One restaurant will always be open for breakfast and lunch during the renovation. Nicks Fishmarket and Ko Restaurant will both remain open for dinner. In addition, Caffe Ciao Bakery and Deli and Luana Lounge will remain open and 24 hour in-suite dining will be available. Any pool that is open will have food and beverage service available. Phase I, August 30 - October 7, 2010: Adults only pool, lower lagoon pool, and the waterslide will be closed. Please note the majority of the noise and disruption will take place August 30 - September 3, 2010. Phase II, October 8 - October 28, 2010: Phase II consists of a few final touches surrounding the upper lagoon pool. Guests visiting during Phase II will be the first to enjoy the newly enhanced adults only pool and lower lagoon pool. In addition, a limited number of the beautifully remodeled suites will be un-veiled for guests enjoyment at this time.

Wonderful hotel, especially for families. The rooms and bathroom are big enough for a family of four -- even with teenagers. The staff were always very helpful. The only negative was the pullout bed which had a very thin mattress. Even the kids complained about it. l

The hotel was very nice. The rooms were bigger than we expected and had more room than we needed! The pools were very plain - but there was a water slide :) We also liked our beach. The staff was very friendly.

We had a blast here. The set up is ideal for families. The winds were pretty bad, but the pools saved the day. The staff is extremely friendly, not smarmy/obsequious. Rooms are very nice. Grounds are looking a little worse for wear. All of Maui is looking a little dated to be honest.

Our Agent Phyllis Says ... This property is excellent for families. The suites offer a separate bedroom for mom and dad and a fold out sofa in the living room for the kids. All units include microwaves. There are 16 poolside units which are located on the ground floor and you can walk right out to the pool. They are perfect for younger children!

Our Agent Maryjayne Says ... The Fairmont Kea Lani Maui is very luxurious and romantic . . . I stayed in suite 736 (the highest floor) and the view was so fabulous. I could see the ocean from the bathroom. This is not your typical hotel bathroom. It is as large as some hotel rooms! It has a deep soaking tub, separate open-air shower, and double sinks. The suite has a living room separated from the bedroom and also a huge lanai. From your lanai you can watch the sunset, see the islands of Molokini and Kahoolawe in one direction and the island of Lanai in the other. I can't forget the view of the pools and garden, which was beautiful and extra romantic at night when it was all lit up. A very awesome place that you MUST experience for yourself! I can't wait to get back there!
