Naupaka Terrace, an extension of existing lanai (balcony) seating, offers panoramic views of the ocean in an intimate setting. Its name reflects the naupaka kahakai, a native Hawaiian shrub that grows wild along Hawaii's beaches. Its white blossoms appear to be only half of a flower. Legend says that the flower is made whole by joining it with a "half flower" from the naupaka kuahiwi (mountain naupaka), which grows upland.

The Hualalai Sports Club and Spa is uniquely Hawaiian, reflecting the islands' aloha spirit. The lap pool, whirlpools, saunas, steam rooms and cold plunges are all set amidst tropical gardens.
