Ilima Hotel Pictures & Description

From the moment you enter the lobby of the Ilima with its gleaming koa wood and paintings by famous Hawaiian artist Ralph Kagehiro, you begin to feel the warmth of Hawai'i's finest small condominium-style hotel with the largest rooms in Waikiki. The Ilima is central to all the fun of Waikiki, yet secluded on a quiet street near the Ala Wai Canal. Spacious studios and suites feature a fully-equipped kitchen, color television with free HBO and Disney Channel plus pay movies, in-room safe, air-conditioning and a private lanai. The property has two rooftop sun decks, heated pool, sauna and exercise room. Amenities include 24 hour front desk, free local phone calls, laundry facilities and lobby travel desk.

One of Hawaii's small, well-located condo-style hotels, the 17-story, pale pink Ilima (named for the native orange flower used in royal leis) offers value for your money. Rooms are huge, the location (near the International Market Place and the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, 2 blocks to Waikiki Beach) is great, and prices are low. A tasteful koa-wood lobby lined with works by Hawaiian artists greets you upon arrival..

Perks include free local phone calls (a nice plus), and a full kitchen in every unit; in addition, all the couches fold out into beds, making this a particularly good deal for families. Some of the beds are waveless waterbeds. Truly nice people staff the front desk, ready to help you enjoy your vacation.

Value-minded travelers will find extremely spacious rooms with air conditioning, daily maid service, and a fully equiped kitchen. Amenities include a 24 hour front desk, free local calls, limited free parking, and coin laundry facilities.
Rooms include color TV with free HBO and Disney channels, Nintendo, in-room safe, and private lanai. The hotel has two rooftop sun decks, heated pool, sauna, and exercise room.

I was a guest at the Ilima Hotel for two weeks in February 2010. My room was great, well-appointed, very clean, and quite large. Maid service was excellent and dependable. Hotel staff were friendly and most helpful. I loved the location --- quiet and located close to anywhere I wanted to go. The sundecks had comfortable chaise lounges and were very convenient. Free parking for my rental car was a distinct bonus. This was my 28th trip to Hawaii, and I would most definately stay at the Ilima again.
