Molokai Ranch Brochure

On the Old Hawaiian Island of Molokai, you will walk beaches that sweep away into cobalt blue seas. You will glimpse orchids hidden in the shadows of primeval forests. You will pursue the island's secrets in the mountains, down the valleys, across the plains where cattle graze. You will meet people for whom work and play are one. You will discover a way of life that nurtures the land. The body, the spirit. And, on this most Hawaiian of all Hawaii's islands, you will find a welcome that outshines all others.

Few places on earth are as lovely, and none quite so magical, as the Old Hawaiian Island of Molokai. You find something wondrous wherever you turn your attention--in the shifting play of sea and sand, in the mimic of a waterfall, in yourself.

For over a century the Lodge at Molokai Ranch has been part of the island's life. Today , the Ranch marries the best of Old Hawaii with all that you expect in a great resort. Graciousness and charm. Luxury and style. Activities that range from kayaking to mountain biking to heritage tours. And, at the center of it all, the Lodge.

Evoking Hawaii's grand plantation era of the '20's and 30's, the Lodge features ocean views, broad verandahs and individually designed guest rooms and garden cottages with historic accent pieces and ranch memorabilia.

At the Lodge your amenities include a great room and lounge, a swimming pool, a spa, a fitness center... and a superb dining room. Your personal experience of Old Hawaii is centered here, where you enjoy a welcome that , like the Island of Molokai itself, cannot be duplicated anywhere.

The beach is a double crescent that cradles the sea in white sand. Your bungalow, with its emerald lawn, broad deck and panoramic views, cradles you in all the comforts of resort accommodation. It is your base for all the adventure the island offers. As a guest of the Lodge at Molokai Ranch you can ride horseback, take your kayak to the surf, watch for whales or walk barefoot under a crystal moon on still-warm sands.

On an Island like Molokai, you can do almost anything, and the Lodge at Molokai Ranch has all you need to make the most of it.
Some, of the many ways you can experience Molokai are listed here. They only suggest the adventure that awaits your discovery, because every day you spend at the Lodge at Molokai Ranch is a day unlike any other.

Mountain Biking
The Lodge at Molokai Ranch has an ever expanding network of mountain bike trails, from singletrack to technical terrain. "Experience Hawaii's premier Mountain bike trail network." We've designed our trails so that everyone can enjoy them, whether you're a beginner or advanced rider. We'll outfit you with your own bike and helmet, then take you on a memorable ride through Molokai's spectacular landscape.
Ocean Adventures
The Lodge at Molokai Ranch offers beautiful, secluded sandy beaches, which are ideal for sunbathing, building sand castles or taking long walks at sunset. You'll also enjoy an array of ocean activities, from snorkeling and fishing, to outrigger sailing and seasonal whale watching. Guided and self-guided ocean kayaking is another popular activity, offering the chance to explore Molokai's southern coast from the sea.

Horseback Riding
It wouldn't be a Ranch without horses and some exciting horseback adventures. Here, your guides are genuine paniolo, Hawaiian cowboys, and the range is pasturelands with spectacular ocean views. "There's a little bit of cowboy in all of us." You'll enjoy leisurely cattle trail drives or compete in traditional rodeo games like pole bending and barrel racing. After that, you can join in for cattle sorting, penning and herding.

Family Adventures
Molokai's relaxed environment is ideal for families wanting to rediscover nature and themselves. We offer an array of adventures for the whole family such as biking tours, beach relays and arts and crafts. "The perfect retreat for family reunions." Our children's program, called Kamali'i Adventure, is designed for kids between ages 4 and 12. Among the kid-friendly activities are visits to the stables, bug hunts, tidal pool explorations and nature walks.
Hiking and Cultural Adventures
Guided and self-guided hikes offer a unique way to appreciate the beauty of Molokai as well as its cultural heritage. Knowledgeable guides will share with you areas of cultural significance, including adze quarries and an ancient fishing village. Guests also enjoy Hawaiian arts and crafts demonstrations, learning to weave lauhala, and stringing flower leis. Popular evening activities include cultural music, storytelling, and discovering Hawaii's night skies through star gazing sessions.

...or Maybe You'll Just Want to be Left Alone.
Not all the activities at the Lodge at Molokai Ranchare quite so active. A cool dip in the pool or a nap in a hammock might suit you just fine. Other relaxing activities include lawn games such as horseshoes, croquet and volleyball. We can even supply you with traditional board games like checkers and chess to while away a few lazy hours or you can enjoy a great book.
Kaupoa Beach Camp
Sitting on a beautiful bouble-crescent white sand beach, Kaupoa Beach Camp is the most exclusive of our camps. Two-unit tentalows and hammocks dot the green landscaped lawns of this spectacular beach front location. It is the ideal destination for families and couples looking for outdoor adventures.

The Lodge
Capturing the warmth and ambience of the cherished era of the 1920s and '30s the Lodge at Molokai Ranch offers guests a home away from home with its gracious Hawaiian hospitality and landscaped gardens.
Set upon eight acres at the entrance to Maunaloa Village, the two-story lodge overlooks wide open pastures and the sparkling Pacific Ocean. Rustic and comfortable, it features 22 spacious guest rooms, a Great Room, fine dining room, game room and lounge, and wrap-around verandahs with spectacular panoramic views.
The guest rooms are comfortably elegant, each featuring its own color schemes and furnishings. The rooms and public areas feature artwork by local artists as well as historic plantation pieces and ranching memorabilia. The Great Room's centerpiece is a large painting of Tootsi Notley, the famous Molokai dancer who became well known in the 1930s. For guests' enjoyment, The Lodge features a spa and swimming pool.

Our Sales Manager Chris Says ...   The Molokai Ranch is a great choice if your desire is to mix luxury with adventure and activity. The various lodging sites offer a range of adventure-oriented accommodations. There is horseback riding, mountain biking and more!! You can always return to the Lodge for a massage and fine dining when your adventure concludes. Kaupoa Beach Camp offers isolation to "just hang out". It has a double crescent beach with tidal pools and is kid friendly. Great for Families.
Our Owner Roz Says ...   The minute you step off the plane in Molokai, you feel the calm, slow-paced lifestyle of this island. You'll see horses & cows in pastures, few cars on the road, and you'll experience the kindness & friendliness of the local people. It's the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The Lodge at Molokai Ranch is an oasis, with a large Great Room in the central lobby, a fire to greet you in the Lodge fireplace, and perhaps a jazz group to entertain you. The Lodge itself has about 22 rooms--6 in the main Lodge building and the others in two adjoining buildings, all offering views of rolling ranch land and the blue Pacific beyond. The Lodge rooms are large with ranch-style decor and old-fashioned claw-foot tubs, plus showers. Down at the Beach Village (which you can visit for part of a day from the Lodge, or stay in a Tentalow), there's a nice beach, though it can easily be non-swimmable due to ocean waves. The Tenalows are getting a bit worn, so be sure you want to "rough it" (though in an upscale style) before booking these. You may also get to see a rare and endangered Monk Seal at near the Beach Village, as the Hawaii State Mammal is a frequent visitor.
