The Mauna Kea Summit Tour departs daily between 1:55 pm - 3:30 pm. Tour is approximately 7-8 hours long. This tour will take you to the world-famous astronomical site - Mauna Kea. Over 90% of the northern and southern hemisphere skies are visible from this summit, 13,796 feet above sea level. Guided air-conditioned motor coach transportation, hooded winter parka, hot picnic dinner at private location, private star show with telescope. WARNING: High altitude (above 9,200 feet) can be dangerous to persons with heart and respiratory problems, pregnant women, or those in poor health should not access the summit. Scuba divers please note that summit altitude is over 13,000 feet (4000 meters). Must be 14 years or older. Children under 14 not allowed on tour.
Rates are per person including 4.166% state tax.
Cancellation Penalties: For all optional vacation tours - activities and tour routings are subject to change without notice. Generally tours canceled outside of 48 hours will not have cancel penalties. No shows are subject to no refund. Tours missed due to illness will be entitled to a full refund if physicians papers are submitted.
