New Paradise Pool at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Offers Major Family Fun

Slides, Lava Tubes, Waterfalls, Heated Spas, and More

HONOLULU, HI--(May 12, 2009) - How do you make a great thing, like the Hilton Hawaiian Village even better? How about adding a 5000 square foot aquatic playground geared to active families?

According to Travel Hawaii , an online agency specializing in Hawaii travel , that's exactly what the Hilton has done. The Paradise Pool boasts the longest water slide in Waikiki and overlooks the expansive Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon -- another nexus for family fun. The Paradise Pool consists of a two-tiered heated, freshwater swimming pool surrounded by lava rock formations, with meandering streams, bridges, and lush foliage all around. The pool has four slides of various lengths, the longest being a lava tube slide that's 77 feet long. There's also three waterfalls and two heated spas.

But it's not all for children. "Rather than giving the pool entirely over to the kids, the Hilton has fashioned a few semi-private areas near poolside where loungers and parents can have some privacy while reading, napping, or taking in the sun," said John Lindelow, owner of Travel-Hawaii.com.

"But to really relax, I'd recommend getting away from the Paradise Pool, to one of the Hilton's four other pools, or to the five acre Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon," continued Lindelow. Pool choices include the huge 10,000 square foot Super Pool (which has its own children's pool), the Tapa Tower pool, the Kalia Tower Pool, or the Alii Tower Pool. "The Kalia and Alii pools are reserved for guests staying in those towers, but the Super Pool and Tapa pool are open to all guests," said Lindelow.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village's Paradise Pool isn't the only major aquatic center at a Hawaii resort. Travel Hawaii's top pick is still the Grand Wailea Resort's fabulous pool complex on Maui.
