Kona - Kohala/Hamakua Coast - Witness the awesome beauty of the Kohala Mountains with panoramic views of the South Kohala Resort coastline. Climb past Waimea over the sweeping pasture lands of the Kahua and Ponoholo Ranches in route to the lush tropical rainforest of Hamakua. Explore the steep ocean cliffs and hidden valleys of Waimanu, Pololu and Waipio, alive with dozens of roaring waterfalls. This area of the Big Island is rich in history and holds some of the most spectacular vistas in Hawaii. Approx. 35-40 minute flight.

Experience the fiery lava vents of the Big Island’s active volcano, Kilauea. This is just one of the unique sights you’ll find on an island boasting 11 out of 13 climate zones present on Earth. Black Beauties whisk guests through the hidden tropical valleys of the Kohala mountains and above the beautiful rainforest of Hamakua coast. Approx. 100-110 minute flight. *Early Bird Specials are valid for flights before 8:30 am.

Seating Options Open Seating: Up to six-passengers, seat assignment determined by weight and balance. First Class Seating: Passengers enjoy “First Class” seating next to pilot, with extra arm and leg room. Maximum combined weight for two passengers on FX STAR First Class is 400 lbs., and Whisper STAR First Class is 490 lbs. NOTE: Weight & Size Guidelines: Helicopter weight and balance changes with every flight because of passenger weight, pilot weight and length of flight (fuel weight). It is important that we have accurate body weight from every passenger. FAA regulations require all passengers and their carry-on items to be weighed at time of check-in. If a standard airline seat belt is too small or you weigh over 240 pounds you may be required to purchase a comfort seat on our FX STAR. If you are between 240-290 lbs. we recommend open seating on the WhisperSTAR. Over 290 lbs. may require a comfort seat in our WhisperSTAR. Call our reservations for more information. Rates are per person including 4.166% state tax. Does not include Gratuity. Cancellation Penalties: For all optional tours - activities and tour routings are subject to change without notice. Generally tours canceled outside of 48 hours will not have cancel penalties. No shows are subject to no refund. Tours missed due to illness will be entitled to a full refund if physicians papers are submitted.
