This was a nostalgia booking for us to just say we stayed at the Royal Hawaiian. The staff was wonderful right down to the last person. The hotel is old, even older than myself. They have upgraded it as much as possible but it's hard to update such an old property. The garden view room was small and the bathroom and shower were smaller. The first night we went down to the Maitai bar so i could get an old fashioned Maitai which I remembered as wonderful from an earlier Honolulu visit to the Sheraton next door. I had one and my wife had a hamburger. The bill was $46.00 and change plus tip. Don't expect the Sheraton, Hyatt or Westin Resort amenities and ambiance. however everyone sholud stay at the Royal Hawaiian once if they can. We have done it now. This was about our eigth hawaii visit.

Our Sales Manager Chris Says ... The Laylow, Autograph Collection Hotel is one of the first two hotels to be built on Waikiki Beach. It's a very elegant hotel with a historical feel located on a prime spot on Waikiki Beach.

Our Agent Brad Says ... Waikiki's grand dame. Historic hotel in the heart of Waikiki. The best stretch of beach in Waikiki fronts this property. The hotel is not for everybody. It is "historic" for sure. The rooms are small and the decor is dated and a bit rough around the edges. Nice if you want to experience a bit of history, but otherwise there are much better values elsewhere.
