| Our Owner Roz Says ... I am absolutely in love with The Westin Maui Resort & Spa. It is a unique, beautiful bungalow style resort overlooking the ocean and fields of grazing horses. The peaceful and romantic atmosphere of your own private bungalow, some offering an outdoor jacuzzi on your deck. It is, by far, my pick for a perfect honeymoon location. The Hana area itself offers a wide variety of activities to enjoy during the day. Enjoy horseback riding along the coast, a bike ride across the mountains, a hike and swim to waterfalls and mountain pools, and a beach picnic at beautiful Hamoa Beach. It is truly the Hawaii you dream about! |
Our Agent Brad Says ... The Westin Maui Resort & Spa is in a class by itself. It is very quiet and isolated. Even the drive to the hotel is great! The drive takes about 2 & 1/2 hours through lush rainforests and along majestic sea cliffs. There are no clocks or televisions in the rooms, and quiet and solitude are the order of the day. Hana town pretty much shuts down at about 6-7pm, but the hotel has a restaurant and a bar that are open later. The hotel is recently under new management. They are managed by the same company that runs the famous Post Ranch Inn at Big Sur and Jean-Michel Cousteau's Fiji Islands Resort. They are also a member of the SLH (small luxury hotels) group. The entire property has also undergone a multi-million dollar renovation recently and now is even nicer. The ocean front suite with spa is wonderful. For romance, sitting in your private hot tub on the deck of your cottage, with a bottle of wine, and looking up the stars can't be beat! This may be the most romantic hotel on Maui. I like it so much that I spent MY honeymoon there! | |
| Our Sales Manager Chris Says ... If you are looking for a large resort in a dry environment, a huge pool and water slides, this is NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. If you are looking to relax in a quiet and serene place, with lush green tropical surroundings, then the Westin Maui Resort & Spa is where you want to be. Hana is one of the last undeveloped and thus unspoiled locations in Hawaii. It is the Hawaii many visitors dream about, where beautiful botanical gardens and waterfalls abound. Guests may wish to simply enjoy the serenity of the quiet and relaxing surroundings, or perhaps you will want to get out and enjoy the natural environment. Maui's only black sand beach, as well as the white sand beach of Hamoa are nearby. The hotel itself has recently completed renovations. The rooms have a very nice "Contemporary Hawaiian" decor, complete with authentic Hawaiian Tapa patterns. The sea ranch cottages are wonderful. It is a real treat to enjoy a cottage with a Jacuzzi after a day of exploring cool mountain streams. Hana is definitely one of my favorite places in all of Hawaii. I have been exploring Hana for years and I am still learning. Whether you just stay for a night to avoid the long drive back to the busy resort areas, or you decide to stay for a few days and unwind, Hana is a wonderful experience. |
