HONOLULU, HI--(August 21, 2009) - The long anticipated Trump International Hotel Waikiki Beachwalk will be opening its doors starting on Nov. 1, according to Travel-Hawaii.com, a leading Hawaii travel retailer . The brand new hotel, commonly referred to as the "Trump Tower Waikiki" is positioning itself as an "ultra-luxury" hotel with such amenities as an infinity pool and waterfall on the sixth floor; koa, granite and marble stone finishes in the rooms; gourmet kitchens with Wolf, Sub-Zero and Bosch appliances; and nightly turndown service.

"Actually, it's not that expensive compared to Waikiki norms," said John Lindelow, owner of Travel-Hawaii.com. "A City View Studio starts at $270/night for 2 people, including all taxes, which is pretty reasonable. You can sleep up to 4 adults in the studios, but each additional adult costs another $100/night." Rates go up to $1509/night for a Three Bedroom Ocean Front condo. Eleven room categories, ranging from studios to three bedrooms, can be booked on Travel-Hawaii.com's web site.

The Trump Waikiki first made news back in November 2006, when all 462 units were pre-sold in one day for a total of $700 million, which some believe is the fastest real estate sale in history.

Controversy erupted earlier this month when some buyers filed lawsuits, claiming that the Trump name could be yanked away from the hotel in the future, thus diminishing their investments, because Trump was not actually a co-developer of the project but only licensed the Trump name. Donald Trump Jr. recently stated, however, that the Trump name would remain for the foreseeable future.

"It's a great thing for Waikiki to have a brand new hotel in the luxury class," said Lindelow. "And it doesn't hurt at all that it has the Trump name on it. Reservations are available starting November 1, and we expect a lot of people will be wanting to stay at the Trump."
